Dubai – Sheikh Rashid Postage Due Stamp Set (1972)
Issued by Dubai in 1972, this complete set of five postage due stamps features a portrait of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai. The stamps were specifically designated “Postage Due” (طابع مستحق) and were used to indicate postal charges payable on insufficiently prepaid mail. Issued during the transitional period shortly after the formation of the UAE, the set represents one of the final issues of Dubai’s independent postal administration.
