الإصدار الأول من فئة ١٠ دراهم
بدأ تداول الدرهم الإماراتي عام 1973 في أوراق من فئة 1، و5، و10، و50 و100 درهم، حاملةً علامة مائية على شكل حصان عربي، تم استبدالها لاحقاً بالصقر، الذي يعتبر شعار الدولة، و قد اوقف التداول سنة ١٩٨٤ ليحل محلها الإصدار الثاني بتصاميم مختلفة. 
 
The first issue of the 10-dirham note
The UAE dirham began circulating in 1973 with denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, and 100 dirhams, featuring a watermark of an Arabian horse. This was later replaced by the falcon, which is the national emblem. The issuance was discontinued in 1984 and replaced by the second issue with different designs.
