COV01 COV0103 – Dubai Government Official Airmail Cover to Germany, 1970
Official Cover issued by the Government of Dubai, sent via airmail to Landsberg, West Germany, in September 1970. Features a 50 naye paise Dubai stamp overprinted with the new Qatar and Dubai dirhams currency, marking the transition from naye paise to dirhams. The stamp depicts a portrait of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai. Cancelled with a circular “Dubai” postmark dated 21 September 1970. Printed “Government of Dubai” heading in English and Arabic, with “By Air Mail / Par Avion” label at top left. Addressed to Viktorin Walzmani in Germany. Reverse side bears “Philatelic Section – Post Office – Dubai” marking in English and Arabic.
Condition: Very good condition, light creases, clean overall with intact edges.
