This postcard shows the elegant Sharjah Mosque near Al Mahatta Airport, commissioned in 1969 by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi (may he rest in peace). The mosque stood as a landmark until its removal in 1987, when Al Khayyal Mosque was constructed in its place.
